Possibly the best way to get a marriage proposal. This lucky girl was proposed to by a more unusual method. A flash mob was organised in which she received hundreds of flowers before the question was popped. Thankfully she did say YES, otherwise it could have been a little awkward.

Battle of the Flowers

The small Island of Jersey, just off the coast of Normandy, holds its annual Battle of the flowers in August. This spectacular event consists of local people from the island, building floats with either paper or real flowers. It is a celebration that regularly attracts about 20,000 people each year.

The parade is expected to be watched by thousands of people on 9 August on Victoria Avenue.

It originally was held to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902 but as it was so popular it returned the following year and has been a one of the major attractions within Jersey throughout the summer months since.

The organisers said they wanted to cut the queues experienced last year and give islanders a better chance to get tickets early. In response, the ticket office at Liberty Wharf opened last Monday Even Managers said that their sales have been going through the roof.
